Hybrid Timber Frame Renovation

A cookie-cutter cabin in the north Georgia mountains was transformed into a Craftsman-style cottage with timber frame embellishments. Existing home was enlarged and exterior was completely redesigned with a combination of Hardiplank, Hardipanel and Nichi Premium Shakes.

The cabin's old covered porch was enclosed to enlarge the kitchen. Painted Craftsman-style cabinets, granite work counters and natural granite backsplashes make up the main work space. The island top was made from old heart pine floor boards salvaged from an 1830s log cabin.

A dry bar was designed adjacent to the kitchen. It features a mini-wine cooler and crystal display cabinets. The backsplash is comprised of spent wine corks.
