The clients have a home on Lake Chatuge in the north Georgia mountains. They wanted to enlarge the living space of the home by incorporating their front screened porch into the heated square footage. By so doing, we were able to give them a more expansive kitchen, dining area, great room and master suite. The stone chimney needed to be relocated in order to open up the great room to the kitchen. A new timber frame front portico was added for both practicality, as well as visual interest and symmetry. A breezeway connects the main house to an existing guest house on the property.
