This award winning home was designed for the Colorado Parade of Homes at the Broadlands in Broomfield. It is in the genuine Mediterranean style and totally authentic right down to the "true divided lights" in every window. While most aspects of the construction are authentic and fit within the style, the floor planning and massing are new and quite creative. Of particular note is the use of stepped and varying height but flat "tray" ceilings. The design is an expansively spread non-orthogonal and free flowing ranch home with some well placed partial octagonal plan elements. Materials are stucco and authentic clay barreled tile. Occasional arched forms are employed at entry to the house and room areas, and above windows. Stone flooring is predominant throughout with beige colored walls and ceilings, Spanish columns are also employed. Because the main circular stair goes down to the lower walkout level, a decorative wrought iron rail is central to the Main Level.
