Designed and built in Keystone for the then President of the University of Colorado and his family, this large mountain home blends elements of the Shingle Style, Montana log cabins, and the Adirondack camps of the past century. It is clad almost entirely in # 1 cedar shingles with much use of heavy timbering both inside and out. A dramatic two and one-half story passive solar spa dominates the south elevation while an indigenous river rock fireplace is central to the very high interior spaces and gives thermal mass to the heart of the home.
