Rustic Basement with Great Entertaining Space

This basement sat unfinished in this home for too long. With their kids in high school, this couple finally decided it was time to take advantage of the extra square footage. This remodel took full advantage of the 9' high BASEMENT (!!!) ceilings, created multiple rooms while maintaining an open layout feeling, and incorporated lots of texture to create a space that feels warm and inviting. The homeowners found the wood while on vacation and had it trucked in from Wyoming. The left over wood was used for the beams and the locally made barn door to the theater room. The stone on the walls pairs beautifully with the knotty cherry cabinets. The bar area includes a bar sink, two under counter stainless steel refrigerators, a full sized stainless steel dishwasher, and plenty of cabinetry for other storage needs. The granite selected provides movement and interest with it's bold veining. A wine cellar and game room round out this spaces that were incorporated into the design.
