1920s Ann Arbor Colonial Gets a Refresh

The overall scope of this project by Meadowlark Design+Build in Ann Arbor, MI required a hefty, multi-floor remodel and addition which included expanding the basement. The result of the collaboration between the homeowners and Meadowlark is the family now enjoys a home that is tailored to their casual lifestyle yet the home retains its original period style. A head-to-toe renovation of the house was completed along with an addition at the back of the home which consisted of a mudroom that flows into a bar space off the kitchen, a first-floor bathroom, a 3-seasons room, and the conversion of an older screened porch into a "music" room which can be converted into a bedroom or office in the future. Many original lighting fixtures were reused and others were found via eBay or online vintage shops to duplicate those already in the home or from that period.
