Taking on the Team
The clients have three growing teenagers, one of which is currently on the local high school football team. They love to entertain their family and friends thus their home has become the “go-to spot” for football parties and other team events. Having a warm and inviting place that accommodates friends and family was foremost in their minds for the redesign. Having the appliances to accommodate the storage and cooking required for these events was a close second. Finally – while an “open-door” policy for all the kids and their friends keeps them close at hand, it also created a need for keeping public spaces public and private spaces private.
A slight reconfiguration of the large space created function that caters to all and included a new large walk in pantry, a tucked-away desk area and loads of open space for the team to congregate while they eat.
