Art Deco Pied-A-Terre

The project was a gut renovation of an 18th century rowhouse, originally a single family mansion on Beacon Hill in Boston. For the past 50 years it was a ten unit apartment/condo building. It was renovated into a 4 unit luxury, boutique building. The front and rear facades were recreated & restored to their original details. An elevator was installed in the building. The spatial relations of one room to another and within the living space was a crucial design element of the project. The client was moving from 2,000 sq ft to 1,150 sq ft so we needed to be creative with storage solutions. Our client's unit needed HVAC vents, recovery air system mechanicals and a sprinkler system along with an extensive lighting plan. We incorporated dramatic lighting fixtures & an extensive art collection into the design of this sophisticated and unique home.
