Custom Bachelor Pad
This project is the 2nd phase of redesign for our client. The client wanted us to open the kitchen wall to incorporate the kitchen into the dining/living area. The client wanted all new custom cabinetry. We added in a walk-in pantry closet into the kitchen because we stole space from an over sized powder room. When we opened the kitchen/dining wall we discovered gas lines that the building would only allow us to relocate within 2 ft of the existing location and hence the columns on the left & right side of the kitchen island-one column was necessary to hide the gas lines & the other to provide symmetry. The kitchen cabinetry is custom (textured wallpaper that has been lacquered). The dining room credenza is custom-riveted leather & zebra wood. We re-configured the furniture layout in the living space. The credenza in the living area is a custom television cabinet. We turned an adjacent living space into an open office area with custom built-in white oak & steel desk & shelving system. We re-designed the master & guest bathrooms. The master bathroom was redesigned by removing a tub and a shower to transform it into a walk-in shower requiring that we move the drain almost 2” within a concrete structure. The custom vanity & paneling in the master bath is butternut wood with built-in medicine cabinets on each side & a floor to ceiling mirrored wall. The guest bathroom was tiled throughout with an over sized white subway tile. The vanity is from Wetstyle. We installed all new walnut flooring in the unit replacing the original cherry flooring. We provided all new furnishings, rugs & lighting in this redesign.
