Castle Pines Home 16
Bye-bye red...hello neutral!
The client wanted to use the existing hardware, and she loved the style of her existing window treatments. So we selected 3 neutral herringbone fabrics to create the same look. For the family room, we used the darker fabric for the body, the lighter for the lead edge, and a 3/8" flat dark grey band inset between the two fabrics to give a small but impactful detail.
In the kitchen we had to plan for the future addition of a motorized dk. grey roller screen shade. In order to still do the medallions, I built a cornice and upholstered it in the lighter fabric (so it would disappear into the paint) and I then mounted the medallions on to the cornice. From there, I did the top of the drapes and the valences in the darker color with a dk. grey cording to give a pop and contrast against the shutters.
It is amazing the change a room can make with just the addition of some new drapes!
