Stapleton Home 2
Client wanted to give her house a feeling of "home". With 2 little kids and a limited budget we were able to move items and redesign her space to create a place she would be happy to relax, entertain, and spend time with her family. Her current family room lacked light and a punch of color. We started by moving the 2 dark floral oversized pictures to the stair wall. We brought a colorful picture she loved into the family room and placed it over the fireplace. We then selected fabrics for the kitchen and family room that brought in the colors of the beloved art. Additional store bought pillows and throws brought in the punch of unifying color. To create depth and bring more light into the space, we added a mirror on each side of the TV with tall greenery. Behind the florals we placed uplights to bring in more light and create ambiance. In the kitchen we did 2 cornices in a fun, playful paisley and replaced the dark rug with an indoor /outdoor teal rug( easy to clean with 2 kids)!
We are now moving on to her bedroom, but one issue she wanted to address immediately, was the light leakage in the small square windows. With 2 little ones, we moms cherish our sleep and the light coming through was waking her up before she needed to rise and shine. To solve this issue without breaking the bank, we placed 3 tin metal pieces of art over the windows. A happy mom is a happy home!
