Schachne Architects & Builders was retained to provide design/build services for this 4,500 s.f. condominium renovation in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The existing base building plan was comprised of compartmentalized rooms that did not take advantage of the 180 degree views from the ocean to the east, beach to the south and intracoastal waterway to the west. The focus of the design was to tear away numerous interior walls to allow uninhibited views from the east side to the west. The work included gutting the existing entry foyer, dining room, den, master closets and master bathroom area. A requirement of the client was to develop space and custom cabinetry to showcase their art collection and artifacts. All the custom cabinetry utilized American forested plywood and LED lighting throughout for reduction in heat and energy usage.
