2000sf Blown-In Insulation

Client had new HVAC but didn't have any attic protection for heat, humidity, or air flow. Largo Green Inc. (LG) was retained to add blown-in insulation to get better HVAC efficiencies. LG used an extension pipe to blow insulation deep into corners and hard-to-reach areas. Up to 16" of insulation was installed.

Here's the "Before" pic of the backside of the HVAC equipment and configuration - the "return plenum". There was a minimal amount of batt insulation but only on the one attic wall, not the attic floor.

Largo Green Inc. (LG) built a hard PVC tube to funnel the insulation and pinpoint our application process. The extension was vital for reaching all the way to the roof/attic edges, around obstacles, and atop unsafe joists.

Once the material was inserted into the blower machine, the turbulence caused the material to separate and expand before it was sent on its way through the hoses.

It was VERY HOT up there - over 160 degrees!! The Texas summer didn't make for a friendly environment. LG made sure the team got many water & breaking breaks throughout the project.

Inserting the compacted cubes of material into the machine was tricky. Soon as that outer plastic membrane was cut, the expansion was a factor.
