600sf Engineered Wood Floor

Largo Green (LG) was retained to install an engineered wood floor. LG leveled the slab with copious amounts of LevelQuik cement. Then LG chose a super strong underlayment, EZMat (water proof, sound proof, mold proof, & provides deep impact cushioning.) LG installed wood with meticulous attention, strong glue, & extra care was taken to prevent any spaces/cracks between planks.

Day 1. Starting at bedroom doorway & laying planks perpendicular to the hallway. That glue is "forever" super strong. Extreme care was taken to be sure layout was level/squared AND NO SPACES between any planks.

Tongue & Groove made the assembling of the floor tight and flat. Extreme care was taken to be sure layout was level/squared AND NO SPACES between any planks.

The BLUE TAPE was KEY because it kept the boards together & from seeping apart in the tiniest of ways. The heavy bucket of glue also kept the boards down and drying properly.

LG moved methodically in stages. Teamwork was key. That super strong glue, once laid down, dictated where the next few boards must go.

Constant frequent squaring by tapping boards into tight alignment was key. The blue tape guaranteed the workmanship was in tact as LG resources moved along the pattern.

Manual pressure and guidance were tremendously important. The initial connection had to be reinforced with the blue tape and tapping into place.

This is still Day 1 and much progress has been made. That rock wall was not hard fitting because LG left the perfect amount of space at its bottom while building.

Near end of Day 1. The cleaning of any excess gloe was a constant task so glue would not dry atop or in the edges of the planks. The thick plastic sheeting covered and protected the finished product.

Day 2. More of the same process and with the exact same LG team. Tapping, taping, & teamwork. Inch by inch, its a cinch.

LG choose the wood planks that were most attractive and set them in groupings for certain highly visible areas.

Still DAY 2. More tapping & tightening. Reached the far corner of the large master bedroom.

Still DAY 2. Edges are critical and baseboards can cover only the very small gaps left behind...so very important to keep boards tightly & straight together.

DAY 3. That curve meeting the marble floor was most traffic and highly visible. So client chose each plank and numbered them sequentially. The grains were matched for most visual appeal. Time to cut the curves.

Day 4. Into the rock shelf corner. Tough to get planks under the tight gaps & around the stones. Keep cleaning ANY glue remnants.

The walnut threshold was attached to transition the travertine hallway to the engineered wood bedroom. The poles are in place to pressure dry the walnut for few days.
