Painted "Ancient Burgundy"

Client's wanted to create a retreat of calming comfort in high-rise condo. The goal was to make things simple, monochromatic, & rich in color. Largo Green, Inc. (LG) finished off a master bathroom in deep, ancient burgundy paint to pull together the colors from the already installed Italian Rossa Levanto marble. LG experimented with different shades of burgundy, then had a deep burgundy pigment custom made.

LG made the best successes by experimenting on the back interior wall right outside the shower.

The overhead recessed lighting made the painting job challenging because the bright lights revealed any nuances in the paint. The early shades LG used were too pinkish in tone, and not as deep in feel.

The Italian marble floor set the standard for the wall colors. The walls could not be much lighter or they'd compete and contrast with the floor.

Under the brightest lighting, the wall next to the spa tub, was vibrant painted in the rich burgundy color.

The path to the walk-in shower was all a calming experience. The marble inside the shower matched the floor marble exactly. LG wanted the most dark to offset the bright Greek Thassos White marble in the shower.

LG had earlier tried some of the Olive tones on the walls, but they paled in comparison to the final choice of deep rich burgundy.

LG went a more shade darker until the overall affect was even more calming.

Now the deepest richness came through in a grand manner. The more dark shade of burgundy withstood the test of the bright lighting.

LG has since added walls and pocket doors to close in the master bath from the master bedroom.

Lg shows this picture to point out the deep color in contrast to the white light trim. LG then painted the trim same dark burgundy color.

The marble trim inside the curved furr-down, gave solid anchoring to the space above the Spa Tub.
