Accessible Vintage Bathroom

The sink was relocated to where the tub was, thereby freeing up room for the enlarged shower. The zero threshold shower sill is visible. The doors were reused from existing doors (c. 1920) that had been stored in the basement of the condo building.

Accessible Vintage Bathroom

This was the original bathroom, which needed to be completely gutted to make it handicap accessible. The shower was very small, the opening to the shower was also very small and there was a large curb.

This is the new accessible shower stall. It is nearly double the size of what was existing, and is now full of light with the full glass door and sidelight. The shower was redesigned with a zero threshold sill that slopes back into the drain. A bench, niches and grab bar complete the interior.

The tub in the bathroom was not needed. It was removed and the sink was moved to that location.
