This remodel was orchestrated by the Baltimore Symphony show house committee for the "Mayfair" house. We were designated a room to complete and our designers went right to it! This room was one of only five that were actually showcased in the Baltimore Sun Home section. As you can see the attic bedroom was a small, dark space with the need for something to brighten and lighten it. The selections boast a contemporary style, which includes accent wallpaper in tones of blue offset by a white painted brick chimney and white molding on the ceiling to give it interest. The hardwoods were refinished and the open crawl space was hidden by a black fabric and stylish gold beaded curtain. The focal point in this small space is the custom created gold rope hanging bed. It's an illusion, of course, since the bed is actually supported by a hidden handcrafted pedestal. All in all, this dingy, cramped attic space was reborn into a wonderful spare hide-away for guests.
