Expanded & Remodeled Kitchen
Residential architect Michael Lyons was commissioned by this Dallas homeowner to enlarge and remodel their dated kitchen. The owners requested a neutral palate for their remodeled kitchen, along with a classical revival feel to the kitchen cabinetry detailing. The rear wall of the residence was pushed out to create a new breakfast room with built-in cabinets, custom designed by Lyons. A trick that Lyons often uses is to add frosted glass panels to doors that are backlit, which softens what would ordinarily be a solid pantry door. Although a small architectural detail, building the pantry door to the adjacent refrigerator height allowed surrounding trim to organize dissimilar elements into a cohesive unit in this remodeled kitchen.
