This Corsicana, Texas client commissioned architectural designer Michael Lyons to remodel their master bedroom and master bath. The client wanted a more spacious feel to the rooms, more closet space and a more dramatic look overall. Though maintaining the existing low-pitched roof was a restriction, it inspired Lyons to design an extra-wide rounded cove which allowed the segmental arch ceiling to crown at a higher point at the bedroom’s center. Low-voltage lighting around the ceiling’s perimeter and LED recessed ceiling lights add drama. The master bath is tied to the bedroom via a tiled barrel-vaulted hallway. Large-scale walnut detailing creates a framework to visually organize the bathroom vanities, windows, tub and shower. An arched ceiling completes this master bath and bedroom remodel designed by Lyons.
