Modern Traditional
This home was our fourth remodel with this client (we previously remodeled two of his personal homes and one investment project) and this house was a flip house which, I'm happy to report, sold immediately!
The house sits on a hill surrounded by mature fruit trees and and we designed a wrap-around porch and new front steps to add to the curb appeal.
Not knowing who the buyer would be, we incorporated a classic black-and-white palette and traditional elements such as white Shaker kitchen cabinets, brass hardware and a farmhouse sink in the kitchen and a new twist on a traditional black-and-white hex tile pattern for the floor in the hall bath.
In the primary bathroom, we were thrilled to be able to refurbish the existing clawfoot tub by refinishing the interior and painting the exterior black. Using Carrara marble for the shower walls, Carrara marble with an ogee detail for the base tile and a traditional white hex porcelain tile paired with black grout for the floors completed the look.
Throughout the house, we kept the original mill-work where we could. We added new flooring, refreshed the existing interior doors by painting them black and gave the dated brick fireplace a facelift with smooth white plaster and a new, flush honed Absolute Black granite hearth.
