This ground-up new build was the third in a series of four custom high-end homes designed for a local investor/builder. To tone down the potential visual chill of the soaring ceilings, we warmed up the look with stained wood beams in the open concept living/dining room and added French Oak floors throughout. We chose a zebra (striped) marble for the kitchen island counter and backsplash for major wow factor and paired it with white quartz counters for the perimeter cabinets so they wouldn't compete with the zebra marble. The powder room features a wall of textured basalt (lava) tile behind the open-style vanity and bubble light fixture. The bathrooms are steeped in modern minimalism with a either curbless walk-in showers and/or a free-standing soaking tub. We designed all the custom cabinets and bathroom vanities.
