The client who lives half the year in Washington State purchased a Butterfield sculpture from a Seattle gallery. He arranged to have it shipped to his Montecito home and hired us to re-landscape his front lawn. I wanted the space to be a perfect backdrop to highlight this beloved and very special acquisition. I selected the very low growing ground cover, Kurapia, and accented the space with Cherokee stone boulders. The piece was installed with great care to the largest of the stones. We graded the original flat lawn with mounds to further emphasize the sculpture. The client surprised his wife and arrived the following week thrilled at the result.
