The goal was to create a traditionally detailed Powder room layering tile pattern, custom cabinetry, stone counter tops, lighting, architectural moldings.
We relocated the toilet and tuck away...
The original layout had the toilet centered on the back wall as you entered. Not the focal point any client would desire. Re-positioning toilet to the left wall and tucking behind a wall created a water closet alcove. The room is long and narrow so adding a door was not possible to completely conceal the toilet but the decorative wall panels at the end of the room shift the focus to the detail

allow light into the room. We Carved the center panel out of the entry door and adding opaque beveled leaded glass detail allows daylight from the front hall to fill the room during the day and on evenings warm sconce light from the hall fills the room. We layering general purpose recessed cans with a decorative flush mount, recessed micro-fixtures, and 2 sconces allow for several lighting schemes. The decorative fixtures bring soft brass undertones and warm alabaster stone into the room. Selecting a translucent glass sink called for a ribbon of light to bring the sink to life and acts a night light for the clients when entertaining add character and detail. This home had great bones but little to no detail and character. The clients love classic traditional with a few modern twists in decorative elements. Integrating custom cabinetry to include a curved front face, wainscoted mirrors, hand-towel alcoves, and with applied wall panels pulls the room together. Black and white color scheme works through polished marble floor, wall paper inserts, polished marble counter top and back splash, and site finished custom cabinetry. Warm brass back plates to the wall sconces and flush mount ceiling mixes the metals for a modern feel
