Quirky yet Sophisticated

The creation of spaces that are masculine and sophisticated and fit for a person with a 'wicked' sense of humour - that is my summary of the brief. The colours and textures came together just by listening to our client's stories. Yes, it is a grey theme, but it has so much interest and live and appeal. The kitchen in particular reflects the client's character. It is quirky yet sophisticated.
The Bathroom, En-suite, Toilet, Laundry & general colour scheme all work in with the grey theme, creating a light-weight, clean-lined and modern look.
We want to thank KKG Ltd (Refresh Renovations) for choosing us as designers for the Bathrooms. KKG Ltd managed the design and build process.

Due to the depth of the oven and fridge unit, we were able to create an overhead cupboard with a hidden bar behind. The bar unit is remote controlled and with a touch of a button the kitchen does get transformed. This feature is playful but so truly sophisticated. Our client loves it!

For both blind corners we used the Hafele Le Mans II Corner Unit. It provides easy access to a space which otherwise would be hard to access. The shelves pull-out separately and completely giving the user full access and oversight.
Maximising Usage of Space
The advantage of using integrated appliances is that the kitchen becomes more minimalist, as the appliances are hidden behind cupboards.

We wanted a clean glossy exterior to the kitchen and the matt black powder-coated extrusion let us achieve this. No handles!

The Devil is in the Detail
The pantry consists of 4 drawers and a cupboard with shelves above. We recessed the unit under the stairs making use of all available space.
Pantry
Going with the modern theme we wanted to create a concrete look for the floor. We used Sono, with a natural mineral based core material. It is PVC free, chlorine free and plasticiser free.
Laundry
The bespoke vanity cabinet was designed so that it would work in different sizes for all 3 spaces, bathroom, en-suite and toilet. The benchtop is white engineered stone and the cabinet is Luxe Panel in colour Cuzco Cobre. We chose this finish as it has an exceptionally high gloss level.

The Back-to-wall Bath Tub was the perfect solution for a small scale bathroom, ensuring that we make it appear as large as it possibly can. The heated towel rails either side create symmetry, but also add an industrial touch.

A Sophisticated Grey Dream
Although the ceiling is vaulted we wanted to give the feeling of space and height. Having floor to ceiling curtains makes the space appear taller. The texture in the grey sheer fabric is simply gorgeous and creates so much interest.
