We designed a new master suite to fit within existing attic of this 1930s house in Ravenna neighborhood of Seattle. New French doors open to balcony that overlooks backyard, and skylights were added to balance light. Wardrobes surround an existing stair. Bath is enclosed, but with high windows to light stairwell. Space below eaves became built-ins for clothes and storage. Wood ceilings create a warm cozy space.
