Sophisticated Straightline
At the beginning of this project the homeowner already had a few elements established in the yard that we needed to design around. They wanted to make sure that the addition of the pool fit seamlessly in with the elements already in the yard and the design style of the house. With the large planter well already established at the end of the patio we approached the design with an “L” shaped pool to wrap the pool around the current patio and give access to the pool on either side of the planter well. In order to create a shaded area on the deck and pool with the arbor we extended the joists of the arbor three feet over the edge of the pool. We then used a leuders limestone for the coping, painted brick (to match the house) for all of the veneers and the homeowner selected a buff colored tile to continue that color tone into the pool. The back water feature wall was elevated to retain some of the yard as it gained elevation towards the back and to also break up the visual of the larger retaining wall in the back of the yard. We then completed the design of the back water feature wall with a 36” stainless steel spill edge and a firebar located directly behind.
