Bathroom Mid Century Vibe

The bathroom was on a rasied platform and the client did not want the tub. They wanted to enlarge the shower. I widened everything to accommodate wheelchair access.

The tile was the "happy" design element the Client wanted so using asymmetrical mirrors adds to that whimsy
Quater Sawn Oak Cabinetry
I created a corner make up area for the Client and added a soffit over this corner to provide more direct lighting since the ceiling vaulted to 13" on the wall to the right

The Client loved the Craftsman style furniture and no way did "he" want painted cabintry. I designed the cabinetry to look like furniture
Black plumbing fixtures
It took several attempts to get the tile pattern right for these walls. The Client wanted the majority of the color on the bottom and interperse the color as it gradually went up the wall.

The 1/2 wall into the shower is where I added the shower controls and another niche for toiletry storage

The existing shower was a step up and the ceiling vaulted. I lowered the ceiling to help keep the area warm and to provide lighting closer to the user
Walk in shower designs
To keep the space open we used a glass pocket door and all doors an trim and ceiling and walls were painted the same color

The ceiling above the shower was vaulted. I dropped the ceiling and aligned it with the ceiling over the toilet area where the new pocket door is.

There was so many achirterual ceiling bump outs...they were all removed. You can see an unnecessary bump out above the door to the toilet area

This view shows the soffit and dropped ceiling we added to this vaulted ceiling bathroom. Painting walls, ceiling and trim all one color provides clean lines and allows the coloful tile and Quarter Sawn cabinetry to stand out.

This is the view looking from the tub towards the toilet area. We removed the step into the shower, and enlarged the shower by expanding it towards the closet that was removed. We designed a stand alone tall cabinet as "closet" storage
