Beadboard and Open Shelving Kitchen

This large kitchen is in a home built in 1917, but the original space was poorly laid out. We opened up the area by removing a wall that bumped out into the kitchen, added an island, and gave the homeowner the open shelving that was on her wish list. We kept with the feel of the home by utilizing semi-custom cabinetry in Maple, painted “Beach White”. The subway tile also gives an old world charm, as do the Pendants above the island and over the sink, yet updated finishes in satin nickel, Uba Tuba granite and crystal knobs at the breakfast area keep this inviting kitchen feeling current.
