Wide Open-Concept Kitchen

Today's trend is for open and multifunctional spaces that can accommodate a variety of family activities. By opening up the first floor we were able to brighten the once dark kitchen and give this family a variety of live/work options.

Creating a more cohesive multifunctional space was on the wish list of our client. To meet their request we opted to take down walls and totally open up the first floor living area. A large island with cooktop and seat area takes center stage for casual family dining or work from home needs.

Wide Open-Concept Kitchen

The island features the cooktop and raised counter. Facing into the living area, the family chef is able to interact with family while having easy access to pots, pans, and cooking utensils.

Housed in the original footprint, we rearranged the appliance layout and updated the overall feel of the kitchen sink area by incorporating touches of warm brass, stainless steel, glass, and aged bronze.

Farm Sink and Mixed Finishes

Through taking down walls we were able to open up the kitchen to the adjoining living areas. Decorative woodwork on the support columns provide elegance and blend with the new cabinetry and crown moldings.

Views into the Living Area

Modern function and transitional style is brought into this kitchen with new double ovens, microwave housed in upper cabinetry and off the counters, bridge faucet and apron sink.

The island of this open concept space is in a color called Cocoa complimented by warm brass hardware.
