Nestled on one acre of tree-studded land, this yard is enhanced by verdant and colorful plantings. The owners have a special passion for vegetable gardening and enjoy puttering, which always adds special flavor to a garden. We left the front landscape natural with existing pine and redwood trees. The use of classic hardscape materials like Connecticut bluestone and used brick create an East-Coast feel. This landscape had many existing elements that I integrated into the new design: The existing swimming pool received new coping and bluestone decking, and the large lawn areas were kept as-is. I added an outdoor kitchen and bar, large stone patio and seat walls, a new edible garden, new gravel and stone paths, and new plantings all the way through for a real garden retreat.
