Emerging into its first spring, this landscape has undergone a complete makeover. We updated everything, maintaining only the existing front walkway, a large redwood, and the sycamore trees. The exposed-aggregate patio was expanded and redesigned in stone for dining, lounging, and entertaining, and a casual fire pit was added for cozy evening get-togethers. New lush and colorful plantings have enhanced the very shady environment in front and back, incorporating the existing front lawn. Planting areas required mounding to accommodate the invasive roots of existing trees, with low stone border walls. Along with boulder and rock accents, these elements add texture and character to the new landscape.
