Nestled on the edge of a creek, this wooded cottage is filled with rare and exotic plantings. The owner has a special passion for gardening and has inherited many one-of-a-kind plants from her father, who developed many new hybrids of rhododendrons and azaleas. I was commissioned to create a design to work around these many wonderful established plants. I added redwood decking, flagstone patios and paths, and an artist's studio recreated from an old shed. We added new underplantings to complement the mature plantings and added a lawn area for the pets to play on.
