I started on this project when the original owner built the home, and I finished it with the current owner who had a new vision and needs from the landscape. The new design is a kid-friendly, stylish yard for entertaining. I went with classic hardscape, including a rectangular pool with safety cover and sheer descent waterfalls, a lawn area for play, a large patio and travertine terrace for entertaining, a sports court, and vegetable garden. I worked around an existing guest house and added stone grade walls, a private patio, and shade pergola. The backyard is pushed up against natural open space creating an interesting backdrop for this lush landscape. Complementing the mature beauty of existing oaks and redwoods, low-maintenance shade plantings ground this multi-use landscape.
