When I first met with these homeowners, their outdated yard was not living up to its full potential to showcase the amazing views of rolling hills and majestic oaks. We fixed that by redesigning and completely replacing the old, weathered wood deck with a new deck of composite lumber. The new, large expanse of deck reaches out into the hills, giving the owners plenty of space for entertaining. A simple iron and cable railing accents the deck without impeding on the amazing views. An outdoor grill is built into the side of the deck for convenience right outside home’s kitchen. Stepping down from the deck’s main level is a spa deck, where the owners can relax while savoring the solitude of their environment. The solid-roofed pavilion and gas fire pit make dining al fresco a pleasurable experience in any kind of weather. Below the deck there is a putting green which gives the yard a playful element while also providing a space for the owner to practice his golf skills. Small lawn and garden areas complete this backyard redesign and ease the visual transition between inhabited space and wild nature beyond the property line.
