This elegant French style home had a vast lawn that was suffering from the effects of drought. A collaboration with the homeowner led to an easy care, drought tolerant solution. Part of the challenge was to integrate new, drought tolerant plantings with older, established, more water loving plants. We replaced part of the lawn with a Calistoga Stone retaining wall and Bluestone path to ease access from the driveway to the front of the house. The lawn at the entry to the house was replaced with a gravel patio, gracious French fountain, and benches. The plantings are drought tolerant and low maintenance.
