Nestled atop a hill overlooking a stunning valley, this house has an incomparable view. The clients naturally wanted a pool and landscape that echoed and blended with the native surroundings. To achieve this and to create a one-of-a-kind backyard, I designed an infinity-edge pool on the knoll. Across the valley sits a beautiful reservoir, and the pool seems to extend across the valley and connect with the distant water- when viewed from the flagstone sun deck, the two flow together and blend near and far in a stunning way! Since the pool is a good distance from the house, I designed a poolside cabana with some comforts of home (including a bathroom and small outdoor kitchen) to reduce trips across the yard into the house. Rustic ledgestone, boulders, and flowing grasses feel at home nestled among the native oak trees.
