This second home near the beach for a retired couple is a three-level town home where they enjoy spending relaxed quality time with family and friends. The couple wanted to make their home more welcoming for children and grandchildren, while significantly enhancing the overall look and feel. They wanted their home to reflect its wonderful natural surroundings, integrate more color, and embrace a contemporary aesthetic.

The new design balances fresh, natural neutrals with soft, interesting textures to capture the spirit of a beach home. Several structural changes were made to open the home up in a more inviting layout that also allowed room to triple the size of the existing kitchen. Ceilings were raised on two levels to create more openness, while space was borrowed from little used areas to maximize efficient space planning. A glittering powder room adds drama on one level, while the master suite was transformed into a sumptuous retreat reminiscent of a luxury resort.

The clients love their new space where they can feel as comfortable playing with their grandkids as they do entertaining friends with a home cooked meal and wine, all while appreciating their stunning ocean views.
