Designed for a young professional couple with a growing family, this Ocean Beach home is infused with personal expression. Customized elements create a unique interior for the family, as they plan to remain in this home for many years to come. The existing space had some elements the clients appreciated and wanted to preserve, but it needed significant transformation to achieve the fresh and rustic Mid-Century Modern feeling they desired. They wanted to live in an open, light-filled space connected to its scenic natural surroundings with
an active family lifestyle kept in mind.

The new design takes advantage of the hilltop home’s panoramic ocean views, connecting the stimulating indoor space to the breathtaking outdoor environment. The kitchen, dining and living space are now encompassed in an expansive, airy design with abundant natural light. Extraordinary handmade mosaic tile designs were customized with exacting attention to detail from both client and designer. Natural woods, rustic elements, and bright white surfaces capture an original interpretation of Mid-Century Modern style. Inspired space planning, artistic details, and an energetic color palette make this a home for a family to appreciate for a lifetime.
