This contemporary remodel transformed the kitchen, laundry, and hall bathroom into stunning, functional spaces designed to meet the needs of our clients who are avid cooks, bakers, and entertainers. They came to MAK wanting to modernize their interior and make it feel more connected. By removing the original partition columns on the kitchen island and relocating key appliances, the new layout now flows seamlessly, creating open sightlines and allowing natural light to flood the common areas. The addition of new windows along the south wall, combined with the replacement of a central window, provides beautiful views and brightens the entire space.

The kitchen now features two islands—one with bar seating for casual gatherings and another dedicated to functionality, housing multiple appliances, ample storage, and a prep sink. The cooktop and exhaust hood were relocated from the island to the south wall, improving the kitchen’s workflow by creating an efficient work triangle while also streamlining the space visually. Premium Wolf and Subzero appliances enhance the kitchen's usability, including a full-size Subzero wine fridge and a spacious Subzero side-by-side freezer/refrigerator that accommodates an impressive amount of storage.

Flat-panel rift white oak cabinetry unifies the kitchen, hall bathroom, and laundry area with warm, natural tones, while sleek gray quartzite countertops extend across the kitchen and into the backsplash of the buffet pass-through area, adding a sophisticated touch. The porcelain tile backsplash in the kitchen features subtle color variation, creating texture and interest. The pass-through banquette connecting the kitchen to the formal dining area provides additional storage, a charming focal point, and a functional design element that encourages flow between spaces. Polished concrete floors throughout the interior add modern elegance and continuity.
