2009 Christiana Kitchen
The tight, closed off kitchen was not suited to the rambling feel of this country home with beautiful views. We removed a wall between the kitchen and family room, creating not only a more open feel but making room to add a large island. By shifting the sliding patio door and windows we created room to add a tremendous amount of cabinetry and counter space. We took advantage of the beautiful country views by adding a window in place of the patio door and a large picture window above the sink. Relocating appliances allowed for a much more convenient floor plan. Semi-custom cabinets provided all the storage the homeowner needed, including a baking center in the island, aided by quartz counters that are perfectly suited for bakers. The tile backsplash matches the decorative accents on the floor and complements the original exposed brick, creating a kitchen that finally fits the style and location of the house.
