This ranch house had an adequately sized kitchen but a lot of wasted space. The client asked us to utilize the area with as much cabinetry and counter space as possible. Using light birch cabinets in a Shaker style we added shallow-depth cabinets along the wall opposite the main work area to create additional storage as well as a useful display/buffet area. Reeded glass in the wall cabinets gave an airy feeling while still offering privacy to the cabinet contents. Quartz counters and a timeless subway tile backsplash brought color and texture to the room while keeping the overall style neutral. Black appliances, hardware and lights brought depth to the now functional room for which the homeowner asked.
