2013 Lancaster Kitchen 2
It was time for an update in this awkwardly planned kitchen. A peninsula, which cut the room in two, was removed in favor of an island. For visual interest the clients chose to use birch cabinets for the lower cabinets and painted cabinets for the wall and tall cabinets. The birch anchored the room while the white cabinets gave it an airy, open feel. Pantry and glass front cabinets were added to a previously unused wall. Quartz, in two different colors, was used to highlight the island as well as the marble subway tile backsplash. Task lighting accents the backsplash while lighting the inside of the glass cabinet. Recessed lighting provides plenty of light while a ceiling fan helps with ventilation. Luxury vinyl tile on the floor completed the elegant, yet comfortable, look the homeowners now enjoy.
