2017 Lancaster Bathroom
It was time to update the master bathroom in this East Hempfield Township home. The fixture finishes were outdated, the homeowners rarely used the large whirlpool tub and found the shower stall too small for a relaxing experience. Maximizing the shower area and creating a calm and clean environment were top priorities. Fortunately the adjacent, unused bedroom was large enough to annex approximately 24” from it to enlarge the master bathroom. With this added space we created a 90”x54” barrier-free shower with a pebble base and large format porcelain surround. A rain shower, handheld shower and 4 adjustable body jets enclosed by frameless glass achieved the spa-like showering experience our clients sought while keeping an open feel to the room. The new shower was large enough to offer a drying-off and dressing area complete with linen storage and tilt-out hamper. The pebbled shower base blends perfectly with a curve accent into the floor tile. Painted vanity cabinets in gray complement the tile tones and bring a softness to the room. Ease of use of the room was important as well so features like a toilet seat with nightlight and dimmable LED lights in the vanity toekick ensure the room is convenient to use any time of day or night. Recessed vent fan/lights, recessed lights and vanity lights finished out this remodel that turned a cramped, dated room into an at-home retreat.
