Auburn, Cherry Inset Kitchen
After 35 years with their old kitchen's dark cabinets and heavy, overhanging soffit, the homeowners were ready for a change. When they saw the Fieldstone cherry display in our showroom, they were struck by the rich graining and luscious color, and knew they had to have it for their own. The general layout of the perimeter walls worked for them, so except for installing a dishwasher and moving the microwave from the countertop to the wall, our designer kept it much the same. A wall divided the kitchen from the dining area approximately where the peninsula now stands; taking down that wall and replacing it with the peninsula increased the kitchen's storage and workspace drastically while removing the cramped feeling of the small rooms.
