These homeowners came in with a litany of complaints about their kitchen. They were frustrated by the lack of storage space, sick of the dingy white cabinets and speckled granite, and annoyed by the heavy, overhanging soffit that necessitated shorter cabinets. Getting rid of the soffit was a top priority, allowing graceful 36" tall upper cabinets instead of squat 30" tall ones. They were also tired of having the bulky refrigerator in the way when bringing in groceries. Our designer proposed moving the refrigerator across the room into a pantry alcove, framing it with a deep cabinet on top and a pantry pullout beside it, and adding a short peninsula as a landing zone for the groceries and to provide more cabinetry and counter space. They fell in love with Fabuwood's Galaxy cabinet in Timber (birch with a medium stain) and Viatera engineered quartz in Carbo Brushed for its soapstone-like look. The cabinets were adorned with Berenson's "Elevate" pulls in matte black, which pop against the stained wood. All in all, the homeowners are ecstatic with their new kitchen.
