We were brought in to provide the countertops for a remodel where the original stone fabricator did not work out. The homeowners selected one of our preferred wholesaler's stock quartzes, BGE Eterno Calacatta Roma, which is also one of the more cost-effective marble-look quartzes available to us. Engineered quartz is a manmade surface comprised of 93% ground quartz stone and the remainder is resins and pigments. It is stain resistant (but no product is 100% stain proof), heat resistant to 350 degrees (higher temperatures can cause discoloration and cracking), cut/scratch resistant (but it will destroy your knives so don't cut on it), and does not etch like marble.
