Merrimack, Gray Transitional Kitchen

Our homeowner was so excited by her new kitchen that she had to show her pride herself! She and a friend did 95% of the demolition themselves, then she installed the LVP flooring, assisted with the cabinet installation, and made a great showing at her first ever tile installation. Our designer was honored to help facilitate this terrific mostly-DIY project with a great layout for a quirky space.

This Fantasy Brown marble slab had the exact shade of gray in it to match the Ultracraft Urban Gray cabinets with hand-brushed Brown Linen glaze.

Floating shelves fill an awkward corner by the window where it would be too difficult to reach into a cabinet. A glass front cabinet helps lighten up this wall, and its mullion doors echo the windows in the adjacent French door.

The homeowner had never laid tile before embarking on this project. Porcelain tile in shades of warm beige and brown pick up the brown glaze on the cabinets and the brown tones in the Fantasy Brown marble countertops.

We don't normally specify corner sinks because of the wasted space behind the sink, but it really was the most efficient use of space with the awkwardly placed window. Moving windows and doors was not in the budget.

These pictures depict the various stages this kitchen had been in before the new kitchen was installed - first she tried painting the dark, dated cabinets and when that didn't work she decided it was time to start over. The homeowner and a friend did almost all of the demolition work themselves.
