This project had a strong focus on space planning. There were a number of desired elements that needed to fit into a smaller yard. In front, we had a linear space, only 11 feet wide. The concept was to lead the eye in the long dimension in order to make the space feel bigger. We also opened up the area with a new, more transparent fence and smaller plantings. In the back yard, we successfully added an outdoor kitchen, hot tub and dining area while maintaining lawn and planting space. The architectural lattice screen replaced a thick and overgrown evergreen hedge, leaving more usable space in the yard while maintaining privacy.
