This project sprung from the homeowner's desire to create a detached office space within a functional yard for entertaining - and their need to for more privacy.

As implemented, our design uses this office structure (both heated and cooled) to block the views of neighboring homes from the patio and to nestle the patio into the landscape. The office space itself allows natural light to come in through several windows while leaving ample wall space for a desk and shelving.

Curved walls shape the lawn and a vegetable bed and allow a flat upper lawn. Access was maintained to the alley behind the home. Overall this design took an unused backyard and made a functional outdoor living space as well as a new 100 sf office space for our clients.
