Open Concept Basement

The paneled bar walls, decorative corbels, and Chicago style bar rail provide a pub-like feel to the space. The dropped soffit defining the bar space mirrors the configuration of the bar top below. Finished Basement Bar

The tray ceiling above the bar area adds visual interest and helps to define the space. Existing structural columns were integrated into the bar design and enclosed in a stained maple finish.

Full Bar Area

The television was positioned to provide adequate viewing from just about any location in the room. The recessed lighting and wall sconces can be dimmed low for movie night or turned up for family games.

Family Friendly Space

The drink rail next to the homeowners' alma mater pool table was positioned to hide an access panel to the main water shut-off valve.

A built-in display shelf was constructed to hide the sump pit.

Built-In Shelving Conceals Sump Pump

In addition to the primary sump pump, a water-powered backup pump was installed to run in the event of an emergency. The water-powered backup pump doesn't use electricity, so it will continue to operate even in the event of a power outage.
